Sector experience includes:
James Law brings imagination, skill and over 25 years of experience to provide organisations with a focussed, cost-effective and methodologically neutral resource.
Research Project Delivery +
With a support team of research professionals, projects of all methodologies can be successfully delivered. Quantitative options include Online surveys, face to face and telephone interviews and Qualitative options include Focus Group discussions, and Depth interviews (conventional and online).
Research and Insight strategy development or evaluation +
This often includes a review of the research needs of an organisation, clarifying how insight supports the business aims and objectives. A plan can be developed (or existing activity evaluated) to establish the optimum structure for future research. This process can result in cost effective changes to reduce information overload and increase clarity to help drive organisation objectives.
Information or data review and interpretation, with action planning +
Sorting the research ‘wood’ from the ‘trees’ and identifying the hidden insight is a speciality. Information becomes more actionable when set in context with extraneous information removed.
Expert Opinion and dispute resolution related to research issues +
Independent perspective and clarity can be brought to any disagreement related to the interpretation or quality of research findings. This could be either internal or external disputes and I have acted as an ‘Expert Witness’ in legal actions.
Peer Review +
Available as an objective and independent quality check on all elements of a research project, recommending any aspects which would enhance the quality and robustness of the findings.
Consultancy for research organisation (including Business Development, Change Management, Quality Control and Growth Strategies) +
As an experienced additional resource, I can act as a ‘critical friend’ to assess your current business plans, and help develop strategy to enable step change. If desired, I can manage that change process to deliver real, tangible benefits to the organisation.
Commercial Due Diligence research (related to business sale, merger or acquisitions) +
Strictly confidential services include image and reputation reviews, Key Customer satisfaction research, staff consultations (including senior management teams) clarifying organisation strengths and weaknesses. This can assist in filling knowledge gaps in relation to intangible assets.
Management of research activity +
Projects can be managed from start to finish with supervision and liaison with suppliers and sub-contractors as needed.
Procurement of research activity (including development of brief, and management of tendering process) +
Research briefs can be developed for agreement prior to being issued for tendering. A contact award process can be developed with selection criteria, score cards and tender proposal presentation meetings arranged as required.
Training programmes and advice resource for in-house teams +
We can offer guidance and capacity building training to give staff the necessary knowledge to manage, conduct or interpret research activity. This can include objective setting, brief development, selection of methodology, designing questionnaires, interpreting results and preparing reports / debrief presentations.
